This picture is from an evening hike I took earlier this week. I love the light in the evening;as I've said many times before. It has been so hot here in California lately and the evening wasn't much cooler but I enjoyed hiking nonetheless. The dog in the picture is my mom's jack russell terrier named Lily. She is a tough brute who loves walking and working, but can be the biggest baby sometimes.
I've been trying to post pictures as much as I can, and take pictures also as much as I can, because it has been said before that practice makes perfect. Here are some pictures that I took on a walk the other day.

I haven't been taking too many pictures lately but here are some I took yesterday.
I met this cat on a walk with my sister. It didn't like me and ran away right after I took this picture. Too bad.
I love taking walks in the evening. You get the golden light...like this.
While I was in Pasadena(if you see my previous post), I saw a lovely brick building that I made my sisters stand in front of for a while so I could take their pictures.
I really like this picture here just because while it's a very straight-forward portrait shot, what makes the picture interesting is the composition and color of the brick. I did saturate the picture a bit to give the brick and the color of my sister's shirt more definition but if you ever want a cool place to take pictures, brick buildings are most always a good place.
This picture here I edited to be black and white, but the next picture down you will notice is the color version of the same picture. I did this to show what a different look you can get with black and white, or color. Because of the brick building, I think that the color version of the photograph may be better because it shows the interesting color range of the brick but the black and white adds a dramatic effect to the picture which I really like.
The other day, my sisters (Dana and Addy) and I went down to Pasadena for the afternoon
to have some lunch and hang out around the city. I took some pictures as we walked around the city with our stomachs full and our souls happy. Here they are:
Such a cute pizza place. So picturesque!
My sister Dana is quite the coffee lover so we went to a coffee shop called Intellgentsia. This particular coffee shop has a couple stores around California and is quite well known among the city people. I would say it's just a fad....but they make a mean latte.
I wish the picture was bigger..maybe it's just my inability to understand computers...
but you can always click on the picture to see it larger.
I'm glad I was able to capture the people watching the fireworks in this picture as well as the fireworks, because I think it gives it more....pizzaz.Anyways, I didn't mess too much this picture, I only lightened up the shadows so the people are more pronounced.
I recently got a new camera, a Sony Alpha 390.I had done no research on it at all and that is crazy for me because I'm a big researcher on big buys and I guess that's good but, anyways. It was a great deal so I bought it to try it out and I am greatly enjoying it. It's a D-Slr, and my first camera with interchangeable lenses. I'm learning every day how to use it better...and for the price that I got it(with two lenses)..i'm feeling happy.
This is my favorite of the pictures. The only thing I messed with in this picture was the colors.I saturated it a little and voila!I'm gonna tell you something..you notice that the focus is on the earring and her hair instead of her face?Well, I didn't even mean for it to be that way. I had intended to have her face be the focus, but forgot to set the "focus" to the right (where her face was). Sometimes mistakes end up as good pictures.
